Don't even ask why I had to take 15 graduate hours all this year on top of everything else-- and please don't ask why I went down to the wire on getting them done (due tomorrow). Let's just be happy that it's all over, and some of the classes were even decent-- bonus!
I just did something I have been wanting to do for months, and that is submitting my final assignment for my graduate classes I took this year! Oh huge relief. Oh big piano hanging over my head that just floated away. Oh weight of the world heavy on my shoulders that rolled away. Don't even ask why I had to take 15 graduate hours all this year on top of everything else-- and please don't ask why I went down to the wire on getting them done (due tomorrow). Let's just be happy that it's all over, and some of the classes were even decent-- bonus! So now I can sew, and I can knit, and I can spend all day just looking at this little cutie (and napping when he naps, because boy do I need it!).

My wedding ring came off for the first time in months! I truly wondered if that would ever happen again. Note to self: next time pay better attention to swollen fingers. Also, I painted my toenails, which I can now reach very comfortably. Aaaand, I'm rediscovering some non-maternity clothes.
But who am I kidding-- the real reason I'm posting is to celebrate one week of life with this little guy! He had his doctor's appointment today and everything looks great. I sometimes wish he would stay awake and come out to play more, but I'm glad he's getting all the sleep he can handle. Here are some of my favorite pictures... This morning we welcomed Hendrik James into the world at 5:42 am. He weighed 7 lbs and 12 oz, and he is 21" long. For a very entertaining story, sometime you should ask me about how we dawdled in going to the hospital, thinking it wasn't real labor, and arrived at 5:15 just to hear that I was fully dilated and ready to push. I think we were in denial that he was really coming early! But he is here and we are thrilled and blessed. Here are some high points of the day...
