Friday was a conference for me in Indianapolis, and I spent most of the day blowing my nose and coughing and sniffing and generally feeling sorry for myself. Hendrik had to stay at the baby-sitter's from 5 am to 7 pm that day! It's the longest I have ever been away from him. Not worth it. Of course he was fine, but I should have just stayed home again. It's hard when you make arrangements for stuff like that months in advance.
We had a lovely Thanksgiving with my parents and brother Paul and then drove down to Muncie over the weekend to have Hendrik baptized. It was so special! Both sets of grandparents could be there. While we were trying to decide what to do about baptizing Hendrik right now or not, we both really liked the idea that infant baptism is a picture of how God extended his grace to us before we were able to respond. We hope and pray that Hendrik comes to know Jesus, and it was a special time to express that hope and claim God's covenant promises.
We're just finishing up the Christmas lights outside while Hendrik is FINally asleep today. After that I will come in and make some tea. Thankful for this advent season and hoping to feel better soon!
